While buildings transform their location and their surroundings, the transformed environment also shapes how the next set of buildings will be. In this context, it is impossible to evaluate the building separately from its historical and social context. Just as it is unthinkable to consider the Atatürk Cultural Centre separately from Taksim, the transformation of Taksim cannot be considered independently from AKM. The context of AKM and the story of its transformation inspired this project, and the project was named 'Transformation'.

The area proposed by the contest organization for the location of the sculpture questions the relationship between the past and future existence of AKM and the artworks it hosts. In this context, a new location has been proposed for the sculpture. The area at the corner of the main entrance is proposed for the sculpture, considering the strong physical relationship between the building and the square and the use by the city dwellers. In addition, the sculpture is positioned at an angle that integrates with the building when viewed from the square, showing that it is there for AKM.

In the historical context, especially considering the transformation of AKM over the years, it is seen that the building façade system designed by Hayati Tabanlıoğlu and his team is one of a strong and constant images. Therefore, the proposed sculpture's main idea is the connection between the design of the new AKM and its past through this façade.

This sculpture is not only related to the physical existence of the building but also to the culture created by AKM and the countless names that contributed to the construction of this culture.
